We welcome original pitches that help readers understand the rules, roles, formats or tactical choices behind sport. A strong contribution has one clear question, explains why the answer matters in play and makes room for context rather than pretending every game works the same way.

What to pitch

Propose a focused explainer, comparison, background piece or viewing guide within the publication's sports-literacy scope. Choose a distinct subject and say what a reader will be able to understand or notice after reading it. We prefer evergreen ideas that do not depend on predictions or unsupported claims.

Make the case

Send a short summary of the central idea, the sport and context involved, and the points you would cover. Note any specialist terms that need explaining and how you would handle differences between formats or competitions. Do not send confidential information or material you do not have permission to share.
